Succulent Bouquet's

Succulents have become so popular recently and at first I didn't understand why. When I pictured  succulents I just saw a cactus. I couldn't be more wrong.

After finding out more about succulents, I started looking into different floral arrangements. These are a few of my favorites.

I love this one. The colors of these succulent flowers are beautiful and really stand out much more than I would have thought.

This bouquet, although relatively simple, I find very pretty. I don't know if I would have a bride carry it, however I think it would work very well for bridesmaid's wearing bold colored dresses.

Great Wedding Flower Alternative: Red Graptosedum

There are many great, colorful, hardy succulents you can incorporate into your wedding. One of my favorites is the Red Graptosedum.

The Red Graptosedum is a hybrid cross of Sedum and Graptopetalum. They come together to form a tiny, beautiful bronze-colored rosette. To change the color of these hardy succulents, simply place them in direct sunlight, and watch the fleshy bronze petals turn a pinkish reddish hue.

Best of all, if you have wedding during the spring or summer months, Red Graptosedum blooms yellow flowers to add that perfect pop of life and color to every piece of your wedding decor.

Red Graptosedum, and all succulents for that matter, feature qualities a typical flower used in weddings can’t. Besides being colorful and beautiful, they are long lasting, reusable, hardy, and an extremely cost effective alternative for your upcoming wedding!

Succulent Wedding Ideas

Try taking succulents out of the norm and use them as you would any flower.
A succulent corsage is something I've to see in person, but I'm certain I wouldn't be disappointed.

How about some boutonnieres to match?

Looking for a unique hairstyle? No succulent themed wedding would be complete without...

Finally, add some life to your venue. This is one of my favorite ideas because they are cheap, easy, and fun to make. Add a little splash of succulents.

let them eat cake!

Is there anything more grand and spectacular at a wedding than the cake... well besides the bride of course? I love attending weddings, basking in the brides glow, witnessing the couples love, spending time with family and friends, but lets get real we are all thinking about the cake. What will the cake look like? How many different layers will it have? Will there be enough for seconds?

The wedding cake is such an important facet of the wedding that it gets its own table! I mean even the bride and groom have to share a table; so needless to say selecting a wedding cake is a serious task. The wedding cake can provide beautiful decor while also satisfying a guest's sweet tooth, so lets hope it looks as wonderful as it tastes.

I am currently swooning on how lovely succulents can dress up a wedding cake. Adding succulents provide just the right amount of color and pizzazz without overwhelming the cake itself. Here are a few of my favorites.

Let's hope they tasted good too

to favor or not to favor...

A question that I hear often asked by brides is "Do I need to give my guests favors at my wedding?" This question is usually answered with opposing views. The more traditional responses will include a "yes" stating that it is important to make your guests feel appreciated and welcomed at your wedding. A "no" response usually has something to do with a lack of a creative idea and not wanting to give the boring piece of chocolate or bags of Jordan Almonds that are the usual suspects. So what is a bride (and groom) to do? The answer is actually quite easy...

Provide your guests with beautiful yet practical succulent wedding favors! As some may know a popular wedding trend is to gift mini succulents. Popularity arises for the fact that succulents not only help to spruce up your tables but they also provide a lasting memory of your wedding for your guests in the years to come. Many brides are opting for the double duty wedding favors, saving funds by minimizing the size of their guest tables centerpiece, and sometimes opting out of the traditional floral centerpiece altogether, as well as receiving confidence in knowing that their guests feel thanked for partaking in their special day.

Here are a few of my favorite ways that brides used succulent favors at their weddings. Get creative and gift your guests with a favor they will be sure to enjoy!
